LIME-GINGER BBQ CHICKEN WINGS
Ingredients
375 mL (1 1/2 cups) Sesame-Ginger Broth
2 kg (4 lb) chicken wings
80 mL (⅓ cup) honey
60 mL (1/4 cup) soy sauce
30 mL (2 tbsp) hoisin sauce
15 mL (1 tbsp) fresh grated ginger
Zest and juice of 1 lime
60 mL (1/4 cup) cilantro, chopped
Directions
- In a large airtight container, pour in Canton® broth, honey, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, ginger, and lime zest and juice.
- Place chicken wings in marinade. Mix well, cover and chill from 12 to 24 hours.
- Drain meat, reserving marinade in a pot.
- Simmer marinade for 10 minutes.
- Preheat barbecue on High.
- When barbecue grill is very hot, arrange chicken wings on top and reduce heat to medium-low. Grill around 15 minutes or until well-cooked. During cooking, baste 3 times with hot marinade.
- Remove from grill, garnish with cilantro and serve.
Chef's tip
Hands-on supervision during cooking is needed because sweet ingredients in the marinade could flame quickly, blackening the skin while the chicken remains under-cooked.
