Shiitake hot pot
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp. butter
- 3 cups fresh, fresh shiitake (or white) mushrooms, sliced or quartered
- 2 shallots, minced
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 3 cups unsalted beef broth or water
- 2 cups Canton Red Wine fondue broth
- Salt and freshly ground pepper
For the garnish:
- 1 lb rice noodles, cooked and rinsed under cold water
- 1 lb thinly sliced fondue meat
- 2 green onions, chopped
Directions
- In a saucepan, butter, then brown mushrooms and shallots for about 5 minutes.
- Add garlic, then continue cooking for 1 minute.
- Pour in liquids, bring to a boil, lower heat, and simmer for about 15 minutes.
- Place noodles and garnish in serving bowls and pour hot broth on top to cook meat and warm up ingredients.
- Serve immediately
